The primary site, KetamineTherapyForMentalHealth.com, redirected to by KTFMH.com, are informative websites that provide comprehensive knowledge about ketamine therapy as an alternative treatment for mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The website covers essential topics such as the benefits and risks associated with the therapy, its effectiveness, the treatment process, potential side effects, and guidance on finding a qualified provider. The site aims to educate and inform individuals considering ketamine therapy for their mental health needs and those looking to get more out of their treatment.
We are an international, all-volunteer group of patients on ketamine therapy for many years. We are highly educated in the space of ketamine therapy. None of us has any financial or organizational interest in any provider.
Multiple collaborators have submitted information to this site, and nearly every page allows for comments to refine the content and for questions to be answered. Feel free to leave feedback anywhere you would like on the site. The comments are monitored so someone will respond to you.
One of the site’s administrators, madscribbler, wrote a personal anecdote that evolved into a comprehensive guide on using ketamine on Reddit (in r/therapeuticketamine), which has become a cornerstone resource. However, due to Reddit’s limitations on characters in a post, this site was created as a replacement to elaborate and provide additional information the post couldn’t due to the limits. Our Orientation Guide is based on that post, and the site is an expansion of the content in the orientation guide.

Thank you for creating this guide…I am trying to figure this all out (tbi, ocd, anxiety, treatment resistant depression, adhd, autism). My executive dysfunction makes research hard and overwhelming, I am glad to find this guide yall have created, thank you so much for putting it all together for the community. I am in the process still of trying to find out if insurance will cover this, any of this. I havent had luck so far. If they dont, my next question is about whether or not I would be able to handle the IV…I think the injections might be better. I appreciated the guidance you shared about beginning with troches. you mentioned therapy, did you have therapy at the same time, or ….around the same time as your ketamine? Was it from the provider who administered it? I will also send an email just in case. Thank you! Joey
Very welcome for the guide. It’s been a labor of love – paying it forward.
Insurance is tricky, and I have no consistent answer there. I’ve tried getting mine reimbursed and had no luck, even though a company was supposed to be providing it.
IV or injections, injections will hit harder more quickly, and the IV can be more controlled in it’s comeup and letdown. Both have high bioavailability so you’re making the right choice there.
I did therapy in sessions outside of the ketamine experience itself. I was uncommunicative at moderate doses, so having a therapist there while I sat silently wasn’t helpful. So I worked with her outside of the ketamine sessions. And I focused on building out a vocabulary around my mind so I could work with it more effectively while undergoing ketamine experiences. It was helpful, and I’d recommend it in that format. That said, at lower doses I have talked out issues as they’ve come up on ketamine and it’s been really helpful as well. So that is an option, as long as you keep your dose low enough to remain lucid.
Cheers to you Joey.
I share this website with many people, trying to understand how ketamine therapy may help them with their issues. It’s a wonderful, unbiased and well-cited resource: thank you for creating and maintaining it for public education purposes!
Absolutely. Thank you for sharing it with people it can help. I appreciate the positive feedback as well, this has been a labor of love, and it’s comments like yours that make it really satisfying.
This is the best ketamine therapy guide online and I wish to express my thanks. It presents relevant information, with supporting references, in a non biased and succinct manner. I share it as often as possible. My provider is likewise impressed. Great job in every respect. I would love to see a chapter on ketamine therapy for chronic pain, but I understand that is beyond the scope of your endeavor. I am grateful for your work.
Thank you for the kind words. It is rewarding to get positive feedback. Thank you for sharing the site on reddit and tagging me as you do, I’ve noticed that you’ve been referring people and know that it isn’t just the person you recommend that comes to the site. Every time it’s mentioned there are significant jumps in both hits and visitors, so your recommendations are being read by many.
I saw the post about pinning in the r/ketaminetherapy and I’ll reach out to the mod and see if that’s something they’ll support. I agree making it more visible would be a good thing.
I agree, I cannot believe this isn’t pinned! I’m so glad someone linked to it. I hope to start treatment this month and this guide is the best single resource online. Thank you, mad scribbler!
FYI, we’re pinned to the top of r/ketaminetherapy now.
r/therapeuticketamine has a history with us, and they aren’t willing to support the site similarly. We have agreements with the mods (and the mods of r/ketamine) to provide the link to the site under certain circumstances but limit posting to those scenarios (guidelines are outlined in our community page).
As the site becomes more respected this might change, but for now that’s the status quo.
